Unfortunatly for our Mac friends, there's no port of D8Bridge available for Macintosh computers at the present time. We are looking for solutions; if you are a talented Mac OSX developer please give us a shout!
No, Avid (DigiDesign) Pro Tools only support their own HUI protocol and there's no official documentation available for the common users/developers. Do not despair as we are planning HUI support in our next software revision.
Yes, all you need to do is to buy a USB to Serial cable. They're available anywhere and cheap.

No. D8Bridge takes complete control of your D8B. There's a downside to this, we loose all audio functionalities. The goal of this project was to "convert" the D8B into a usable control surface, not to rewrite the whole OS. The upside to all this is that you will be able to use your D8B even with a broken onboard computer; no need to hunt for old/rare Pentium parts!
It is unlikely we can add more features as we already implemented everything the MCU protocol has to offer. As a business we are open to suggestions for practical add-ons.
No as the software cannot run without its proprietary cable. You can order the package right here.
